The MetaMask wallet, which is widely used in the digital asset space, is now expanding its support for Tezos through a collaboration between TriliTech and Consensys. This collaboration introduces a Tezos Snap, a MetaMask plugin, to seamlessly integrate MetaMask with Tezos, expanding the wallet's reach and capabilities.
The aim is to provide millions of existing MetaMask users with convenient access to a diverse range of applications in the Tezos ecosystem. Additionally, this integration provides more wallet options for the Tezos community.
The Tezos Snap, officially approved by MetaMask, simplifies the process for users to connect their MetaMask wallet with Tezos dApps. When interacting with a Tezos DApp, Tezos Snap encourages users to download and install the plugin without requiring additional installations.
Upon installation, Tezos Snap uses the same recovery phrase as MetaMask to derive the Tezos account and address. Users can view their public key, address, and share this information with connected DApps seamlessly.
In parallel with the Tezos Snap, TriliTech also launched the Tezos Wallet Explorer powered by MetaMask. This open-source application acts as an intermediary between MetaMask's Tezos Snap and Tezos dApps, allowing users to view account balances, transaction history, and manage NFTs transparently.
